My Purr-spective on Senior Cat Care
I have experience taking care of a variety of health conditions since 1997. My first degree is in Animal Care and that started me in the direction of cat care.
That experience is what sets me apart from other cat sitters and I pride myself on offering comfort and care services.
Senior cats can be complicated to manage with medical issues because they can hide or mask their illness, so you need to have a detective's mind.
It's my opinion that senior and special needs cats can benefit from palliative care and be kept comfortable.
Making the decision to keep your cat alive but to deny medical care, or comfort techniques such as fluids, and pain medications is considered neglect and in some cases animal cruelty and I don't feel comfortable doing cat sitting and being told I can't provide care.
With that said, I am still not a vet tech or a veterinarian.. I work with the client and their care team(if they allow it) to provide that care and comfort while you are away.
